Circus Skills Classes in Liverpool!
Come along to ‘The Higher Space’ in Liverpool and learn the art of circus. All sessions will be led by local circus artist Barry Welsh from Black & Blue Circus Theatre.
We have sessions for all ages and abilities, so if you are a beginner here’s your chance – go for it! If you already have some experience we have classes to extend your skills.
‘The Higher Space’ is fully equipped with landing mat, a qualified circus skills teacher, changing room, warm up and down space as well as lots of wonderful circus equipment. Please read on below to find out what we have on offer...
August 2008 weekend four-week circus course for all ages and abilities
Saturdays
9th Aug till the 30th August
The four week course is £40
Participants must book for the entire course.
Please note - no refund will be given to any weeks you do not attend. Parents are very welcome to stay and watch through the window at the warehouse during the beginners’ session from 10am - 11.30am.
Workshop 1: beginners child - 8-12yrs Trapeze // 10am - 11.30am
Workshop 2: beginners young person - 12 -15yrs Trapeze // 11.45am - 1.15pm
Workshop 3: beginners Adult - 16yrs+ 2 wks Trapeze & 2 wks Silks // 2pm - 3.30pm
Workshop 4: Adult improvers - 16yrs+ 2 wks Trapeze & 2 wks Silks // 3.45pm - 5.15pm
Thursday evening adult aerial improvers drop-in
Starting from from 11th Sept 2008
7.30pm - 9.00pm
we are offering a chance to practice those skills learned in our more formal classes,
Some previous aerial experience is necessary for those wishing to participate. Come along to the October adult trapeze session for a taster before starting thursday evening sessions.
Fully equiped for a variety of aerial disciplines and an informal atmosphere, with our circus teacher available to advise as you improve your skills in your own time. Routines can be encouraged and music used to fit in with your own circus style!
Just turn up for £8 or book a course of six sessions and pay only £7 a session (£42 total).

Saturday 13th September 2008
One-off taster session for 14 – 17years
10am – 1pm
Introduction to circus skills! Try everything!
Warm up and cool down, trapeze work, acro-balance and the opportunity to climb the silks.
If you don't have a card this three-hour intro session will cost £20
Autumn 2008 weekend four-week circus course for beginners
Saturday mornings
20th and 27th September, 4th October and 11th October.
10.30am - 12noon
October 2008 adult trapeze taster session for beginners
Saturday 25th October
3 hour session running from 2.00pm - 5.00pm
For those with no experience! A gentle intro to trapeze.

October 2008 session for teenage beginners
Planned for half term
(around 27th Oct - 1st November)
Try your hand at a range of circus skills, such as juggling, stilt and globe walking, diabolo and hat tricks.
If you don't have a card this three-hour intro session will cost £20
