Stuffed - 2004

Stuffed has toured Nationally and Internationally and visited the Royal Opera House in London as part of Firsts. Stuffed is being relaunched and toured in 2007 alongside Wired's new production Handmade/Manmade to form an evening of uncharted highs.

“a beautifully performed, witty and moving solo
that fuses dance theatre with the breath-taking, highly original bungee-assisted dance technique.”

(Ballet Dance Monthly)

This solo brings to light some of the issues associated with bulimia, throwing up laughable yet heartfelt experiences as a relationship with food literally goes down the pan! This is toilet humour but not as you know it.

‘‘Hesketh’s animated character and invigorating style of performance merge comedy and pathos in an intensely personal creation"
Total Theatre)

"Beautifully performed, witty and moving."
(criticaldance.com)

A dependency emerges, telling of a love-hate relationship that transforms ups into downs, strengths into weakness and precision into slackness. With the dancer's authentic commitment, and an invisable, and thus unexpected show of strength on the part of Jamie Ogilvie on the other end of the bungee rope, the ensemble communicates experiences that can be related to, even if they are foreign... Bulima evokes associations, such as puking, fingers down throat and binge eating.  those raised by the performance are: poetry, suffering, beauty.
