As you all know, The Higher Space has been the happy home of Wired for some years, but now it’s becoming so much more. We’re opening up our massive doors for two more companies to join us and help build a bustling creative collective. With such a versatile space the possibilities are endless. From dance companies, to design teams, from theatre companies, to musicians, the sky is literally the limit. Take a look at the information below and follow our mantra…think big!

We are located along The Old Dock Road, roughly a 20 minute walk from the centre of Liverpool. There is parking around the building and in nearby roads which do not require a permit or pay and display.

Immediately to your left as you come into the building is a utility room housing all the items needed for the upkeep of the building.

Next to the utility room is a large modern well -equipped bathroom, with WC, wash basin, bath and overhead shower, perfect for after rehearsals.

Office 1 - 1.9m x 2.6m

Office 2 - 2.6m x 4.1m     

All offices have electricity and facility for internet connection but no landline. Should you wish to install this it would be at a separate cost. All offices are serviced once a week.

The crowning glory of The Higher Space is the main rehearsal space which has a semi sprung dance floor measuring 9.5 x 10m and has a rigging height of 7m: A beautiful open and airy space, the use of which shall be divided equally amongst the resident companies.

Heating for the rehearsal area of the premises is by propane gas heaters and is very effective. All heating costs are included in the rental price.

Storage 1 – 1.9 x 2.6m
Storage 2 – 2.3 x 2.6m

Two optional storage areas are located next to the rehearsal space and can be accessed at any time during the day.

For convenience a kitchen area is located on the ground floor next to the rehearsal space. All communal areas are a shared responsibility but will be cleaned once a week.

On the second floor of the building is an additional fully fitted kitchen with microwave, grill, fridge, freezer, and kettle, which is completed by a dining area and spacious lounge with views out over the main rehearsal space. This can also be used as a meeting room.
